Crowds

Then, we headed for Wembley again, and noticed quite some Brazilian and Mexican Supporters occupied all trains. It soon became clear at Wembley Park Station, that Brazil-Mexico was about to play the gold medal match at the neighbouring Wembley Stadium. I thought it was just a massive crowd!
Ramona made it just in time for the Finals, and I had to wait outside, since I didn't have a ticket. I decided to go to an ice cream/coffee place with wi-fi to follow the first two rotations on my tablet, before heading to the city centre, since the connection was a bit crappy. Also, the live feeds for twitter was hard to do with so many people around!
I went to Covent Garden to take a stroll, and then bought some comic books Tim requested. Then, I walked via Tottenham Court Road to Oxford Street and Carnaby to Piccadilly Circus. On my way there, I noticed there were some.. um.. good looking guys without shirts at the door of some stores... *Sigh* ;).
Brother and sister were reunited again at Liverpool Street at 18:00, since Ramona had quite some troubles in the crowded trains, since both the football and gymnastics events ended at the same time, roughly. Anyway, after a sanitary break, we went to Stratford for the Olympic Park. MY GOD, what A MASSIVE CROWD. If there were 100.000 people at the Olympic Stadium, roughly 50.000 people in neighbouring venues, and another 50.000 in the adjacent mall, that's what I call an amazing, massive crowd. But unlike the crowds I am used to in the Netherlands, everything worked out splendidly. Everybody was very friendly and nice to each other.
So Ramona and I took a stroll, did some window shopping, and then teamed with former gymnast Erika-Leigh, whom Ramona saw last at her World Championships 1999 in Osaka. It was so good to see her, and after we had our dinner at the food court, Erika's husband, Malcolm, came along. Now Malcolm won the silver medal for Canada last week with rowing, and he's really tall. It was kinda hilarious when we took a picture. But he's really nice and they make a good couple :). After a while, we split again (but not without giving Erika her stroopwafels ;)), and resumed our shopping again. First, we ate some ice cream, and then I got myself some shirts at H&M, got a souvenir cap from the London 2012 Store, and later on, I spoke to Jon, Angy and Elena again. Of course, my phone battery died meanwhile, so I was again, not able to communicate with everyone :P.
Then, we took the overground train to Caledonian Road, where we needed a 10-minute walk to the Tube Station and continue our way to Turnpike Lane. Now, tomorrow it's the last day of the Olympics, and we'll go to sleep now. Only I have a ticket this time, so tomorrow it's Ramona's day off!
Cheers,
Justin

P.S. The all around final was an amazing competition according to insiders. The spectators were really touched by Charkashyna's and Son's performances, whereas Kanaeva was just being herself, securing her gold medal.
