In Hong Kong

10 September 2012 | Hong Kong, Hong Kong

After a wonderful day full of festivities (as our sister Rowena is married yesterday), Tim and I arrived at Tim’s parents at 2 am in the morning, as our uncle drove us there (whereas Mum travelled to Zoetermeer instead, by our other aunt). It was time to pack the very last items in our cabin luggage, and straight to bed, which was quite daunting, since it was very hot, and we just had little sleep.

At 10:40 am in the morning, Tim’s mom drove us to the Airport, and we more or less simultaneously arrived with mom. We swiftly checked in our luggage (for the record: Anna-20kg, Tim-16kg, Justin-15kg), and we then grabbed a quick cup of coffee/tea/coke/orange juice with Ramona (Tim’s friend), who waived us goodbye with her boyfriend.

We headed for the passport check, where we could pass the high-tech (read: self check-in) immigration/passport control. The officer was humoured by my mum’s last name, which quite resembled of a certain superhero ;). Either way, we were already allowed to board very swiftly (no problems whatsoever with getting the urn pass the security), and since the airport staff noticed my mum had a cane with her, they let us go on the plane first. Whew, that’s convenient! Too bad we only found out at the gate they changed Tims and Justins seat allocations, so we were separated from Mom. Not to be deterred though – mum had lots of fun with this Vietnamese lady sitting next to her.

The 10:32h flight was okay, but it’s so hard to sleep for all of us. We did watch some movies, cartoons, listened to some music, read a lot. We ate some meals, suffered a bit of turbulence (since we head tailwinds with over 80 km/h, while we were above Tibet and the vicinity of Xian), but our descent was smoothly. Now, we are waiting in Hong Kong for our connecting flight. Fortunately, this flight only lasts 4 hours. Yet, we are all, as we say in Bahasa “CAPE DEH!” and we want to do “TIDUR/BOBOH” ;).

I hope to upload a few low-res photos soon. Catch you later in Jakarta _!

    Wubbo:
